From department stores and hipermarkets to stylish boutiques and shops, Ibiza offers both residents and visitors a wide range of retail therapy. Traditional foods, designer fashion-wear, unique jewellery, gifts and art to delight are all easily found across the island.

Whilst opening times do vary, a general rule of thumb is that the bigger shops - department stores and hipermarketsetc - tend to stay open all day until late into the evening during the high summer season.

The smaller and more traditional shops - bakeries, tobacconists and paper shops etc - tend to respect the siesta lifestyle, opening anywhere between 8am and 9am, and closing around 1.30pm - 2.00pm. Many shops often re-open from 4.30pm - 5pm in the evening and, depending on the season, can stay open until 8pm or even as late as 10pm.

Numerous shops in Ibiza, even the smaller ones, open seven days a week in high season, but prior to June and after September, they tend to be closed on a Sunday. The larger supermarkets in the main towns are open between 9.00am and 9.00pm Monday to Saturday, and from 9.00am to 3.00pm on Sundays during high season, whilst the smaller local supermercados tend to close for siesta in the afternoons, and are generally not open on Sundays. Please bear in mind that as Ibiza has a very relaxed attitude and vibe, we offer these as a rough guideline only - many shops and stores, including their opening times, are a law unto themselves on the White Isle!
